        How will you tell the difference between Taiwan and the United Stated? Although Taiwan and America are both democracies, they differ in three important ways. First of all, the difference is form of party. In Taiwan, though we have two major camps-the blue camp which prefers to keep present situation and the green camp which prefers to be independence, it consists of many Parties. In other words, we are multiparty. Thus, we sometimes have three or more candidates during election of the President. Unlike Taiwan, there are only two Parties which are named Republican Party and the Democratic Party in the United Stated. This is why there are always only two candidates during each election of the President. Another difference is the method of election. In Taiwan, people vote directly in each election, especially in election of the President. If the candidate gets the highest votes, the candidate will be the leader of Taiwan. However, the method is indirectly in the United Stated. The last process of election must be through voters. Therefore, the candidates are not sure that they could be the leader of the United Stated even though the candidates get the highest poll because the voters have to check if people who inhabit each state have qualification to vote. That's why it is indirectly in election of the President because they need to through many processes. At last, the foreign policy is not the same. In Taiwan, our government must think carefully how to keep diplomatic relationship under the heavy stress from China because the China Government has never recognized Taiwan is an independent country. In contrast, America Government does not need to consider this situation. They just want to think how to establish a strategic partner because they face the huge challenge in nation defense from China, even from North Korea. They are destroying the steady of region in America Politicians' opinion, so they want to look for help from another country if the war breaks out between China and America, even breaks out in another region such as Northeast Asia. All in all, we can figure out clearly some difference between them even though Taiwan and America are both democracies in the world.
